On Site Student Visits

We visit locations bringing a project for a 45 min. session. Choose from our 4 curriculum themes:                                             Space & Aliens (habitat & adaptation) Insects (life cycles)                         Puppets and Masks (world cultures)   Simple Machines & Inventions 

Teachers/group leaders receive a CD with an extended lesson plan, parent page, student workbook and evaluation plan that can be reproduced.   

Students can then visit the ScrapMobile to fill a bag with materials to take home. 

We can visit multiple classrooms in one day, providing a whole school with learning and fun!

Adult Workshops

Teacher, staff and group leader workshops

We design lively 2 hour make and take workshops for each group. They use recycled materials in learning games, positive reinforcement, fun projects, holiday ideas and curriculum-related ideas.

Parent/child and parent workshops

In our 1 hour parent-child workshop for all ages, parents alone get a quick session about creativity, then work side by side with their children with each creating a project. The sessions emphasize child creativity and positive reinforcement, using materials found at home.

Community and school events are great places for activity tables from Arts & Scraps. We handle groups of any size. The sponsoring group provides the tables, we bring everything else. We have many options, depending on your budget. 

The ScrapMobile is a "kid magnet", drawing participants to the area of the event where it is located.  We pull the awning out and set up our own tables.

ScrapMobile Sponsorship at events:  

1. Your company name is featured in the 6" rotating LED sign on the side of the bus.
2. Children get to create free of charge at two tables, provided by Arts & Scraps, under an awning, attached to the ScrapMobile, thanks to your sponsorship. You can also arrange for  sponsored or discounted shopping or individual kits to take home.
3. We will hand out your literature or give-aways, post your banners.

Arts & Scraps is located at 16135 Harper.  Take the I-94 Cadieux exit, #223.  Turn south towards the lake.  Immediately turn right on Harper, the first intersection.  Go 3/4 miles.  We're on the right, behind a wrought iron fence and parking lot.  Look for the glass globe lights on the gate and signs on the building.
