How big is the ScrapMobile?  Where can it park?
The ScrapMobile is 26' long and 13' high.  The enrty door is on the passenger side.  Please provide parking that is easily accessible and safe for children walking from your facility/home.

How big is the Ten Buck Truck?
It is more manageable for small parking lots and homes; it is a walk in cargo van.  It is 9' tall and 20 feet long.

What is on the vehicles for shopping?
They carry 22 bulk shopping, individual kits, colored sand and $1.00 items like sticky dots.  We can preload a special material when requested.

I'm not creative, can I find anything?
Bring your lesson plans or theme and our staff will help you invent projects. We do NOT create products; we create opportunities for your group to use their ideas. That takes all the pressure off you!

Are you wheelchair accessible?
The ScrapMobile has a lift.

How early must we reserve a date?
If you are flexible, we almost always can find a mutually agreeable date. Some groups book a year in  advance, some 2 to 4 weeks.

What if our workshop numbers change?
You have up to 24 hours before your visit to change the numbers. We allow a 15% absentee rate. If you do not call and your numbers drop below 85% of those originally committed, you will be charged for them. Example: a group makes reservations for 40 students. We allow for 6 absentees (15% of 40). If you did not change your count up to 24 hours ahead of time, you would be charged for 34 students no matter how many attended.

Do adults need to stay with students?
Yes, students will need assistance with the mechanics of some projects and the adults must make sure their group is behaves in an orderly fashion. They also handle taking students to the restroom or any other special needs.

What follow up activities do you offer/suggest after a workshop?
Students should always be able to explain their ideas to someone else-it could be through a presentation, a story that they write or discussing it with a parent or another student. A lot of thought goes into the projects. They like to tell someone about their ideas.
